The data center infrastructure designed by Facility Support Inc. was a key reason our company chose the location for our disaster recovery center. The 7500+ sq foot raise floor is supported by a well designed parallel, redundant electrical distribution system providing multiple paths of power to critical loads without power disruptions while being simple to operate/maintain and flexible enough to meet the growth of our business. Net Telcos began working with Facility Support back in early 2000. With Facility Support's assistance and recommendations, Net Telcos leased an older data center facility in Glen Allen, VA, and retrofitted it to current standards in power, HVAC, fire suppression, and network connections. Facility Support served as our general contractor for the project, and also provided on-going single point of contact support for Net Telcos going forward. Net Telcos had one 24x7 number we could call for support on the generator, switchgear, UPS, fire suppression, and HVAC systems. Not only was this service a convenience, but was a cost savings versus hiring this expertise in house.

More recently with my new company WattShifters, LLC, dealing with electrical cooperatives, we had been contracted to supply a business plan to retrofit another data center facility in southern VA. Again, Facility Support served as our one stop shop for designing and costing out all requirements relating to the budgeting process.

Facility Support, Inc. has performed work related to data centers and computing laboratories at the University of Richmond for nearly twenty years. The work has varied from installing small UPS systems in support of our telecommunications equipment to completely revamping the electrical, mechanical, and backup power to our main and back-up data centers.

The last two projects were the data centers which gave us adequate capacity for current needs as well as those anticipated for the next five to seven years. Of significant note, we had planned downtime for changeover to the new infrastructure measured in hours, not days.

The expertise that Facility Support, Inc. provides is best seen in the questions they ask at the beginning of the job to understand our real needs, and the ability to guide our decisions based on the best industry practices.
